New municipal school facilities - San Vittore
The new school facilities of the Municipality of San Vittore are located on the former sports field. This land has a central and privileged position in the context of the village. It is connected to this context from each of these ends. Northeast towards the center of the village. Southeast on via Retica. To the south-west in via Camp de la Mezzera and to the north-west in the municipal gymnasium and on the cantonal road. The village is made up of small squares and unique and fascinating spaces. The project is inspired by this for its shape and position. These components of the project perfectly satisfy this particularity. This cross shape opens towards the village. It is composed with the geometry of the land, to offer generous outdoor spaces. These outdoor spaces have different atmospheres like the town squares. All of these outdoor spaces act as a seam for the existing fabric. Access for vehicles and pedestrians is from via San Carlo. No buildings were destroyed except the changing rooms of the sports field. The transformer is hidden in a set consisting of the ramp and the staircase that integrate a small square. It overlooks the Sentiero de la Mezzera in view of the renovation of the technical services building in the village. The project consists of four building bodies that form a cross. Each body of construction reveals a part of the territory of San Vittore - the mountain, the valley, the village, without forgetting the tower of Pala. The project is on the territory and contemplates this territory to allow children to take all the measure, the richness and the value of it. The project offers a unique view of the context within each location of the building. The volume is deliberately simple. From one floor it is suitable for children. This model is perfectly suited to houses around the intervention area. Each part of the project offers a covered outdoor space. These platforms are play areas for children. The project responds to the topography of the land to ensure full entrance via San Carlo. He took advantage of the slope of the ground and the flat roof of the building to install the Sala and its more generous ceiling height on the Via Camp de la Mezzera side. The Hall is extended by an outdoor space on the same level towards via Camp de la Mezzera and via Retica.
