From the street, our building appears to be a combination of compact volumes. The large opening in the northwest façade is the public entrance, which announces the delimitation between public areas and more secured & confidential parts of the building. Through a play of volumes with a slight overhang, our project aims at offfering the image of a public building translating the strength and solemnity of the institution while proposing open and lively features. The thin footbridge giving access to the estacade is positioned as a counterpoint to the great linearity of the Seine quay.
Its volume acts as a strong urban signal, affirming the regal vocation of its function. The facade, made up of mullions and earthen concrete walls, offers an alternation of full and empty spaces, of light and shadow, of more hidden and more protected views.
